Yarn and threads for sock production

10-11-2022
Сotton, cotton-polyester or cotton-acrylic regenerated yarn are perfect for a regular cotton sock.

Cotton has excellent properties: hygroscopicity, softness, ease of care, hygiene, washes well, withstands high temperatures, has resistance to detergents, abrasion and tearing, good air permeability, and is also characterized by ease of use and care.

Cotton-polyester or cotton-acrylic regenerated yarn is a yarn obtained as a result of secondary processing of cotton textiles with the subsequent addition of polyester or acrylic fibers. Often this yarn is called a mixed yarn. Reclaimed yarn is in high demand and is widely used for the production of different popular products.

Often, elastane, polyamide, or polyester are added to cotton sock products to improve elasticity.

The polyester thread does not deform when stretched, which allows you to maintain a high level of elasticity of the seam. The abrasion resistance of such a material practically does not depend on the thickness of the fiber. Polyester thread withstands high temperatures much better than other synthetic and natural threads. Polyester practically does not fade under the influence of sunlight and retains color saturation after repeated washing.

For products of higher quality, spandex is added to the main thread, which helps the products acquire elasticity and keep their shape perfectly.

Viscose is also used for sock production. Viscose is an artificial fiber; regenerated cellulose fiber, which is obtained as a result of the viscose process. Viscose adds smoothness, softness and silkiness, coolness and freshness to products, has high hygroscopicity. And it is also very nicely dyed in various colors. All these properties make the products extremely pleasant and comfortable to wear.

Viscose fiber is added to synthetic fibers to improve the sanitary-hygienic properties of products, to cotton (up to 10%) - to reduce thread breakage during spinning.

The assortment of our company also includes polyamide for stitching, colored polyamide for embroidery in a wide, bright palette, and lycra.

Latex braided with polyester is chosen for the rubber band on the sock. Since 2022 Polistar has had its own production of braided latex.

Acrylic yarn is also popular. It is synthetic fiber, similar in properties to wool, light, warm, pleasant to the touch. Among the disadvantages, we can name the fact that acrylic does not pass air well, so in hot weather it can cause sweating; also the material can electrify and slide.

Acrylic is rarely used in its pure form. Most often, acrylic is added: cotton - to improve hygienic properties; polyester - it gives acrylic resistance to moisture and increased strength; wool - it increases performance and quality characteristics; viscose - to increase elasticity and silkiness. This is a good option for warm socks.

Sempati NM 6.5/1 thread is perfect for a warm winter sock. These are threads that are used in the production of warm and high-quality products. It contains 10% natural wool, 15% high-quality polyamide for better tactile sensations, and 75% acrylic yarn, soft and pleasant to the touch, which adds strength, light resistance and thermoplasticity to the products.

There is another type of yarn that is also used for sock products - fantasy yarns of a new generation.

TENSEL is a new generation of natural fibers. The composition of the yarn includes 45% viscose and 55% regenerated cotton, thanks to which we get an ecologically clean natural fiber that perfectly lets air. It should also be noted that products made of Tencel yarn have bacteriostatic properties that prevent the growth of bacteria, which is suitable for people with sensitive skin.

NOPE is a fantasy yarn with colored dots (NOPE), which are formed as a result of the addition of colored viscose. The composition of the yarn is 15% viscose and 85% cotton-polyester.

DEGRADE is a reconstructed yarn that is colored in 2-3 colors.
