There are more than 80 species of flies that are carriers of pathogens of dangerous infectious diseases of humans and domestic animals. The largest population is reached by the house fly, which constantly flies into closed rooms of people, kitchens, shops, public catering establishments, premises for keeping pets. To effectively deal with them, you first need to understand their life cycle.

The life cycle of an ordinary housefly from an egg to an adult insect capable of reproduction lasts 7-14 days. Adults lay up to 400 eggs. The fruit fly has a slightly longer cycle of 8-30 days and can lay up to 900 eggs. In one season, a pair of flies produces millions of offspring.

The fight against flies and midges is primarily based on strict adherence to sanitary and hygienic and exterminating measures in people's homes, including:

1. Installing mosquito nets on the windows.
2. Use of highly effective mechanical means – sticky fly traps, insecticides.
3. An important preventive measure is the protection of food products and preservation of food in the refrigerator.
4. Tightly close bottles with sweet drinks.
5. Destruction of the sources of midge spread – spoiled products, vegetables, fruits.

It is worth noting that insecticides are used in the form of wet disinfestation, treating walls, windows, even animals with them and in the form of poisonous lures.
